Ceramics has been practiced in Sicily since the Sicel period and, more specilfically, in the area of Caltagirone, in the province of Catania. The decorations and works following a more recent tradition in other areas are very interesting and valuable too. All the different works, according to the single ceramics tradition, offer a great variety of colours and the most beautiful objects can be definitely called works of art.
